In the wild, Minks have a full range of brown color: from light brown, pastel, to dark brown, deep, almost black. On farms the situation is completely different. Today, a farmer is a specialist who knows everything about genetics, devoting a lot of time and effort to the secrets of breeding. To create colors never found in nature, of course, you need to have some knowledge.  The ideal object for selective transformations is the American mink, because its genes can give a huge number of mutations responsible for the color of the fur.  

Traditional colors have long been replaced by a whole extravaganza of exclusive colors, breeders brought animals of all kinds of colors.  This spectrum of color combinations is called color phases, but for a true connoisseur of fur it is a fluffy rainbow.

Fluffy rainbow-what is it? The range of the displayed palette of farm mink is very wide: from white to black, rolling and passing through all the brown and gray-blue colors. Natural black mink "scanblack", as any natural black fur really has a dark brown color. Dark brown mink, called "mahogany", is a symbol of the classic mink coat. The variant of "wild mink" reproduces the original natural color-gray-brown with a dark shade. Light-colored Finnish mink called "scanglow" and dark - "scanbrown". Light gray-brown color is called "pastel". The fur of "lavender" color has a light lilac shade and a light undercoat. The next group includes fur gray-blue color: blue mink - "sapphire"and its light rare mutation called "purple"; gray-blue or silver-blue mink and a grey mink, called "blue iris". The group of light colors includes: white mink, light beige " pearls "and gray-beige" Topaz "or"Palomino". 

The most widespread mutated mink "black cross", the so-called"Krestovka". And then there is the Jaguar, although the color is reminiscent of the color of the cow.  In the world there are several extremely rare mutations of mink, when the number of skins can be equal to only a few hundred. Among them-a gray mink with the smallest white patches, the so-called "Stardust" or "marble" mink, dark yellow, with a little chocolate tinge. And work in this direction does not stop.
