The end of February, and the weather on the North coast of Crete is just a song - +17. This is very pleasing not only to numerous tourists from different parts of our planet, and local residents as well!
For people interested in history, culture, archaeological antiquities and more, the best time to travel to the island of Crete is the end of winter, or the beginning of spring. It is not as hot as in the summer months and Hiking for sightseeing is not so tiring.
In the spring, people who love and are fond of the plant world come here. Thousands of Botanical scientists from different countries come to Crete from February to may. After all, more than 90 species of wild orchids grow in Crete. In addition, many plants on the island are unique, and are not found anywhere else in the world.
In this same period of time, you will be able to plunge into the pre-Easter atmosphere, the time of fun carnivals throughout Greece. A great time before the great Easter fast, when all adults magically become children.
And, of course, Easter! Spend Holy Week and Easter in Crete and you will want to come back again and again. Believe me, if you come to Crete in late winter or early spring, you will fall in love with this island once and for all, and the slogan "summer in Crete" will take on a completely different meaning.
